DESCRIPTION:The 148th ANNUAL MEETING OF PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE will be held at Freemasons’ Hall\, Great Queen Street\, London WC2B 5AZ on Tuesday\, 8th May 2018 at which the attendance of the Provincial Grand Officers\, together with Masters\, Past Masters and Wardens of the Lodges of the Province is required. \nThe Pro Provincial Grand Master R.W.Bro. Alastair Mason will preside over the meeting. \nOther members of Lodges in the Province\, being Master Masons\, are cordially invited to attend the Meeting but they may neither vote nor take part in the business\, unless they are Past Masters of Lodges under the English Constitution and have retained their qualification as Members of Grand Lodge. Visitors\, being Master Masons\, may attend if they are properly introduced. The Provincial Grand Master cordially invites Fellow Craft and Entered Apprentices to attend the Banquet only. \nThe Provincial Grand Lodge will open at 3.45 p.m. (Doors open at 2.45 p.m.). It is an enjoyable event\, being a mixture of colourful pageantry\, wonderful music\, a good speaker and the opportunity of meeting together with fellow members of our Province and their families. \nIn addition please remember that the service is an occasion where we have the chance to invite non-masonic ladies and gentlemen friends to an event where we are on display and have the chance to show to others the pride we have in membership of a great organisation. \nBrethren will wear regalia at the service as usual\, full dress if possible for Grand and Provincial Grand Officers. \nIt is the Pro Provincial Grand Master’s wish that all brethren are encouraged to attend this most important occasion in the Provincial Masonic year.

DESCRIPTION:About Us – Provincial Grand Lodge of Middlesex\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy do people join Freemasonry? People from all walks of life become Freemasons for a variety of reasons. Some are attracted by the valuable work that the movement performs in raising money for charity. A proportion of these funds is used to assist Freemasons and their dependents in times of need\, particularly the sick and the elderly\, but the greater part goes to non Masonic charities – local\, national and international.  Freemasons also assist the community in more direct ways\, such as carrying out voluntary work. Others become Freemasons because of the unique fellowship it provides. Visit a Masonic lodge anywhere in the country – or indeed\, the world – and you are greeted as an old friend. Freemasonry is the ultimate leveller\, a community where friendship and goodwill are paramount. \nIt has been said that some people become Freemasons for personal benefit. This statement is true\, but for the wrong reasons. The personal gain is in experiencing the warmth of an honorable society and being part of an organisation that works hard to help the less fortunate of the world. Freemasonry does ask its members to give as freely as they can to charity. How often have we told ourselves that we really should send money to help with some famine or other disaster we have seen on TV\, only to forget all about it in the rush of everyday life? Freemasonry provides a structured channel for fundraising from its members and reacts quickly when help is needed urgently\, as in the case of the Tsunami disaster. \nBut what about the so called funny handshakes and the outlandish dress styles? Freemasonry has been in existence for over 300 years and over this time has developed a pattern of rituals. They are no more outlandish than ceremonies such as the State Opening of Parliament but\, like this event\, they perform a valuable function in reminding members of the heritage and standards they are expected to maintain. Once people have become Freemasons and understand the context of the rituals and symbolism\, they no longer seem quirky.

DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n Posted on Jan 6\, 2016 in News\, Provincial Grand Chapter \n \nHow and why the Royal Arch\n– The Journey –\nPresented by\nThe Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire Provincial Demonstration Team \nat the Harrow District Masonic Centre on \nThursday 25 February 2016 – 6.00pm\nThis play\, set in a pub in 1740\, looks at the opposing views on masonic ritual and workings of the degrees at that time.
